How to identify a spiritual person?
Patience in the mind and dynamism in action — this is the right formula, as Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar says. Many people misunderstand this, thinking spirituality means becoming completely calm, slowing down, and doing nothing — with no output or action. But true spirituality is different. A genuinely spiritual person is super dynamic; what ten people can do, they will do single-handedly. This dynamism comes from working skillfully, which spirituality teaches.
A passionate person may be action-oriented but restless and impatient. A spiritual person is both action-oriented and patient, with a relaxed mind. When you see someone calm, composed, and productive at the same time — that’s a spiritual person. It’s not about being so calm that nothing gets done, nor about acting with a restless mind. If someone keeps saying “everything will be fine” but never fulfills commitments, stay away.
A spiritual person not only commits but delivers, values people, and considers every life — not just their own — as important.
