Android's September Drop lets you ask Gemini to remember where you left things

Google's September 2026 Android Drop adds a way to keep track of everyday objects that do not have a Bluetooth tracker attached to them. You can tell Gemini where you have put something — a passport, a set of keys, a document folder — and it saves that note for you, with the option to attach a photo.

Anything you record this way lands in a new tab called Remembered inside the Find Hub app, which until now mostly dealt with phones, earbuds and tracker tags. Later, you can ask Gemini out loud where the item is instead of scrolling through the list. The idea is to cover the large category of things people misplace that no tracker is ever going to be attached to.

Google says the feature is rolling out as part of the September Drop for devices running Android 16 and above. As with most Drop features, it arrives in stages, so it may not appear on every eligible phone on day one. Google's announcement did not break out availability by country.
