Gemini Live's Guided Vision will describe what your camera is pointed at

Google has announced Guided Vision as part of the September 2026 Android Drop. You share your phone's camera with Gemini Live, and it speaks out a description of whatever is in front of the lens. Google's examples include reading the small print on a food packet, working through a menu in a dimly lit restaurant, and finding an object around the house.

The part that separates it from a plain camera-and-answer feature is the feedback loop. If the camera is not lined up well, Gemini Live talks you through it, telling you to move the phone, pan across the room, or centre the object so it can actually see what you are asking about. It grew out of Visual Guidance, which Google shipped alongside the Pixel 10 series, and it is aimed particularly at blind and low-vision users. Android Authority reports it can be added to Accessibility shortcuts or opened from the TalkBack menu.

Status: announced, not yet available. Google says it is coming soon to phones running Android 9 and above, in countries where Gemini is offered. No India-specific date has been given.
