IGL raises CNG prices by Rs 3.89 a kg, taking the Delhi rate close to Rs 87

Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL), which supplies piped and compressed natural gas across Delhi and the National Capital Region, has revised CNG rates upward by Rs 3.89 per kg. The new price in Delhi works out to roughly Rs 86.98 per kg, with the change taking effect from the morning of 29 August 2026. Rates in neighbouring NCR cities such as Noida, Ghaziabad and Gurugram follow their own schedules and differ slightly from the Delhi figure.

IGL attributed the revision to international liquefied natural gas prices staying elevated, which raises the cost of the input gas it buys. The company described the increase as a calibrated step meant to partly offset that higher input cost while keeping CNG supplies steady and reliable.

The change matters most to auto-rickshaw drivers, taxi and cab operators, commercial fleets and private CNG car owners in the region, for whom fuel is a recurring running cost. City gas distributors periodically reset retail prices as their own procurement costs move, and pump displays are updated when a revision comes into force.
