Tata Motors gives its car business a new customer-facing identity called Tata.cars

The passenger vehicle arm is unifying its showrooms, service and marketing under one brand.

Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles has introduced Tata.cars as a new consumer-facing brand identity for its car business. Announced on 27 August 2026, it acts as a master brand covering the company's hatchbacks, sedans, SUVs, electric cars and future mobility products. Tata.ev, the electric vehicle line, continues as a sub-brand within it.

Along with the name, the company unveiled a refreshed look built around a design approach it calls Parallel Pathways, including a new principal colour, a custom typeface and a sound signature. The brand promise attached to the change is "Nothing's Too Far". The new identity will appear gradually across dealerships, service centres, websites and advertising rather than all at once.

Importantly, this is a branding exercise and not a corporate restructuring. Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles remains the registered legal entity for manufacturing, contracts, statutory filings and regulatory matters. For buyers, the practical effect is a more consistent look and feel across showrooms and digital channels, and clearer signposting between the petrol, diesel and electric ranges sold under the same roof.
