WhatsApp is testing a notification that reminds you about messages you typed but never sent
An alert titled 'Your draft' appears about a minute after you leave a chat with unsent text. Spotted in Android beta and not yet available to everyone.
WhatsApp already marks conversations with an unfinished message using a draft label in the chat list. The problem is that the label only helps if you open WhatsApp again. A new addition being tested on Android pushes the reminder out to the notification panel instead.
WABetaInfo reports that if you type something in a chat, leave without sending it, and switch to another app, WhatsApp schedules a notification titled 'Your draft' that includes the contact's name. It appears after roughly a minute, and tapping it opens that conversation directly. The scenario it targets is a common one — starting a reply during a meeting or while distracted, getting pulled away, and only noticing hours later that it was never sent.
This was found in a WhatsApp beta build for Android and is reaching only some testers so far. Beta features can change substantially before release, and some never ship at all. WhatsApp has not announced a timeline for a wider rollout, so most users will not see this yet.
